Get to know Dr. Sherbet

What do you enjoy most about being an interventional cardiologist?

I love caring for patients during one of the most stressful events of their lives—when they learn of a heart disease diagnosis—and showing them they can beat their disease and live long, fulfilling, normal lives with appropriate treatment. And, I am passionate about minimally invasive catheterization techniques, prevention of heart disease, cholesterol-lowering medications for the treatment of heart disease, the genetics of heart disease, and the promise of a personalized medicine approach to the care of individual patients.

What inspired you to become a physician?

I went into medicine because I wished to care for the sick and vulnerable on a daily basis. There is no greater privilege than the trust patients give to their physicians, and no endeavor more interesting than applying modern science to cure disease and relieve suffering.
