Cassidy Estes is a doctorally prepared Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in May of 2015, as part of the College of Nursing’s inaugural class at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). After high school she moved to central Arkansas for college and graduated from Baptist School of Nursing in 1998, with her Registered Nurse (RN) diploma. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2001. She spent five years working as a RN in the emergency department at UAMS University Hospital. In 2003, she started the Master’s of Nursing Science Family Nurse Practitioner Program at UAMS. She completed the program in December 2005, and spent one year as a nurse practitioner in the Emergency Department at White County Medical Center in Searcy. In August 2007, she was offered a position at Little Rock Cardiology Clinic, now Arkansas Heart Hospital Clinic, with Dr. Bruce Murphy. Having very little previous exposure to cardiology, Cassidy was given the unique opportunity to learn cardiology from the best. Dr. Bruce Murphy was her first collaborating physician within the organization and the foundation for her evolution as a mid-level provider. Over the last 10 years, Cassidy has functioned in several different capacities. Her current role with Dr Nolen has proven to be the most challenging and the most rewarding of her career.
